Join Pure Wind and Shokaisha
Sign up on this page to become a student member of the Pure Wind (清風 Seifū) English speaking branch of the Shokaisha school of calligraphy, founded in Japan in 1921.
Complete these two steps below:
- Step 1: Simply fill in our short sign-up form below
- Step 2: Pay for your subscription below (by credit or debit card, or through PayPal)
After you do this, we enrol you in the coursework, and contact you to get you registered for the course content, then we register you with the Shokaisha head office in Ikenohata, Tokyo.

Step 2: Pay your subscription
The joining fee is £8 (approx €9 or $11), and monthly subscription is £56 (approx €64 or $74).

Trial of coursework
Take our trial to experience the basic coursework and teaching of the Pure Wind branch of Shokaisha. Please note that during the trial period you will not become a member of Shokaisha nor receive a rank or calligraphy name.
The charge is £25 to cover our basic admin costs and is non-refundable. By purchasing you agree to the details of the trial in our terms and conditions.
